Sets with a release date still ahead, soonest first. A card count here is the number revealed so far, not the size of the finished set.

What set value means

A set’s value is what one copy of every different card in it costs at TCGplayer market prices, as of . A card that comes in several versions in the set, such as a showcase frame, borderless art or extended art, is counted once, at its cheapest version in that set, and nonfoil where it has a nonfoil version. That is why a set value covers fewer cards than the count beside it: Reality Fracture’s 462 cards are 285 different cards, and one of each costs $327.

Every set value comes from the set’s own printings, never a cheaper reprint from another set. The values are refreshed once a week, and on the night a new set is released.

No set value shows for 44 released sets, because more than 2% of their cards have no TCGplayer market price, and a total without them would read lower than the set costs. A set that is not out yet shows no set value: preorder prices run above where they settle, and its card list is not finished until release.

What counts as a set here

Paper sets only: 117 expansions, 44 Commander sets, 26 boxed sets, 26 Duel Decks releases, 25 core sets, 22 funny sets, 21 Masters sets, 18 draft innovation sets, 11 starter sets, 10 From the Vault sets, 6 Eternal sets, 3 Arsenal sets and 3 Premium Deck Series decks. Promotional, token, memorabilia, Masterpiece and minigame sets are left out, and so is every set that exists only on Arena or Magic Online. A Commander or Eternal set that was released alongside a main set is listed separately, on the same day as its parent.

FAQ

How many Magic: The Gathering sets are there?

By this page’s count, 332 paper sets have been released, and 5 more have confirmed release dates. A full card database lists more than that (Scryfall lists 1,063), because it also counts promotional sets, token sets, memorabilia and digital-only releases. This page leaves those out, so its number is the count of sets you could buy and play cards from.

What was the first Magic: The Gathering set?

Limited Edition Alpha, released on 5 August 1993. Limited Edition Beta followed on 4 October 1993. Both sit in the folded 1993 group at the bottom of the list above.

Which Magic products does this set list leave out?

Promotional cards, token sets, memorabilia such as gold-bordered World Championship decks and oversized cards, Masterpiece inserts, minigames, and anything sold only on Magic: The Gathering Arena or Magic Online. Those are either not cards you can play in a normal game or not a set you buy on its own. Everything else is here, from expansions and core sets to Commander decks, Secret Lair and the Un-sets.

How do I see every card in a single set?

Pick the set’s name in the list. It opens this site’s card search filtered to that set, where you can narrow it further by colour, type, rarity or price, and open any card for its printings, prices and rulings. The link is a plain web address, so you can bookmark or share it.

How much does it cost to buy one of every card in a Magic set?

As of 26 October 2026, one copy of every card in Reality Fracture, the newest expansion, costs $327 for 285 different cards. Of the expansions and core sets released since 2018, Final Fantasy costs the most to complete, at $442, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the least, at $118. Each set’s price is on its row in the list above, at TCGplayer market prices for the cheapest version of each card in that set.

When is the next Magic set released?

Star Trek is next, on 13 November 2026. The upcoming sets calendar lists every set with a confirmed date, and how many of its cards have been revealed so far.
